Opera di setra
Far in the mountains in Tylldalen, more specifically Svarthammerlia, the farmer Arne Eggen has a seat. Every summer he takes the livestock and moves up to the setra, and since 2013 he has also arranged opera at the same place. Arne has been passionate about opera for much of his life. When he had to refurbish the barn, madness took over and he turned the barn into an opera stage, which is perhaps the world's only seated opera.
Every year a new opera piece is performed, and the performances, which are performed in Norwegian, are often comedies. The soloists performing the opera are all professional actors. The opera is held at the beginning of July and is very popular. Watching opera on a seat deep in the mountains is a very special and unique experience that you won't soon forget.
