Frisbee golf
Tynset has two great frisbee golf courses where both the most competitive and the whole family can test their accuracy.
Tron Ungdomssenter : 9-hole frisbee golf course is located in the immediate vicinity of Tron Ungdomssenter, with drafts from the car park at the entrance to the youth centre.

TIF Nytrømoen Discgolf Park: Newly established 10-hole Frisbee golf course at Nytrømoen, with draft at the ice hockey rink behind Nytrømohallen. The course is being developed to include an extension of a further 8 holes and a children's course. Address: Idrettsveien 27, 2500 Tynset.
The course at Nytrømoen has been extended to an 18-hole course. The track is still not completely finished, and work is being done to improve the experience on draft and in the track
The pole hunt
Tynset IF Orienteering organizes pole hunting. Go to information about pole hunting from and including 1 June 2024, up to and including 20 October 2024. Pole hunting is a great way to explore and get to know new areas.
Pick up a brochure/map of the poles at Circle K Tynset, Alvdal/Tynset Sport, Sport 1, Matkroken i Tylldalen, Savalen fjellhotel and the Volunteer Center or Servicetorget.

Bathing places
Tynset municipality can offer both organized and natural bathing areas, for a good bathing experience regardless of whether you want the beach or not.
Svarttjønna: sandy beach, floating jetty and volleyball court. Follow Fv. 30 towards Tylldalen. Signed in until Svarttjønna appears on the left hand side after approx. 7 km.
Savalsjøen: deep mountain lake with sandy beach and floating jetty. Follow the signs towards Alvdal on Fv. 30. When you turn off to Rv. 3 you can follow the signs towards Savalen. At the front of Savalen, a sign for a bathing area will appear on the right hand side.
Stubsjøen at Kvikneskogen: Follow signs towards Trondheim on Fv.30. When you turn onto Rv.3. you can follow the signs towards Kvikne. After approx. After 22.5 km, a sign for Sørsjøen appears on the left. Turn left here, then take the first right, and Stubsjøen will appear on the right.
Finstadsjøen in Brydalen : Follow Fv. 665 in approx. 21.5 km. Finstansjøen is on the left.
Tunna at Magnillfossen: Magnillfossen is on the right side of Rv.3 on the way to Trondheim. Follow Route 3 for approx. 12km to get there. Park on the road that appears on the right after you drive past the waterfall.
Riptjønna: mountain lake located in the Ripan nature reserve, which can be combined with hiking in the area. Follow Fv. 30 towards Tylldalen. After approx. After 5 km you turn right into the Nedre Glomsjø car park. From here it is approx. 2.5 km to Riptjønna. The path is well signposted.

Mountain biking
Haverslia has built a new and nice mountain bike trail that is suitable for both adults and children. The facility is located close to the Haverslia ski resort, which is signposted from Rv. 3 towards Tylldalen.
Savalen has also got its own great mountain bike track of 1,300 metres, which is suitable for both families and those who want a bit of a challenge. On this trail, it's great to get air under the wheels! The track has a blue level of difficulty, and is easily accessible by the roller ski track at the Savalen ski stadium. Exact location in Kviknedølåsen.
Otherwise, it is recommended to experience the beautiful natural surroundings on Tynset from the bicycle seat. The municipality has many fine forest and mountain areas that are well suited for trail cycling. For maps and tips for trips, check out Alltrails.

Savalen fjellhotell rents out bicycles in various sizes for both children and adults. At the hotel and on the hotel's website there are maps of the many fine cycle paths and off-road routes that can be experienced in Savalen.

Cycle the seat road Alvdal - Røros
Seterveien Røros – Alvdal is an approx. 16 miles of continuous signposted cycle route from Røros to Alvdal. The route passes through the municipalities of Røros, Os, Tolga, Tynset, Folldal and Alvdal and can be cycled in both directions.
The cycle tour is a great experience that is suitable for the whole family. For a complete experience, you can order a cycling package complete with accommodation, breakfast and dinner. To read more about the seat routes and order a bike package: Go to the website cycling the seat road Alvdal-Røros

Outdoor training
Tynset has fine facilities for outdoor strength and basic training.
Tuftepark - Location: outside Tynset secondary school. The address is Torvgata 1, 2500 Tynset.
Remember to wash your hands before and after using the tuft park.
Base trail in Haverslia - Location: follow Fv. 30 towards Tylldalen. Turn off towards Haverslia Skistadion. At the ski stadium, you enter the light trail to the right of the clubhouse. Take the first right, and the base trail will appear on the left side of the trail.
